"Lifetime" is a strong word, so here's exactly what it covers and where the reasonable limits are - no fine print you'd need a magnifying glass for.
Lifetime is a one-time payment for a perpetual license to run Vizalyze Pro's local, on-device features - the ones that execute entirely on your machine (signal processing, batch reporting, standards workflows, charting, data lineage, and the rest of the Pro feature set that doesn't depend on our servers).
"Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of your license to use the software you've installed, not an unconditional promise about our company's lifetime or an unlimited claim on services that cost us money to run indefinitely. The sections below spell out exactly where the line is.
The local Pro feature set runs on your machine and costs us nothing ongoing to provide, so we make no exceptions here: once purchased, your right to install and run Vizalyze Pro's local features on your activated machines does not expire, is not subscription-gated, and is not affected by anything below - including if we ever discontinue hosted services, stop shipping updates, or wind down the company.
Lifetime includes the same hosted AI query allowance and encrypted cloud sync as the Pro plan, for as long as we operate those hosted services, subject to fair use.
These features run on our infrastructure and carry real, ongoing hosting cost - unlike the local feature set, they are not something a single one-time payment can unconditionally guarantee forever. We reserve the right to adjust hosted-service limits, or - only if genuinely necessary to keep the service operating - offer continued hosted access as an optional low-cost add-on, with at least 12 months' advance notice by email before any change takes effect.
Your installed application and every locally-run Pro feature are never affected by a change to hosted services. Cloud sync and hosted AI have always been convenience layers on top of a local-first app, not a requirement to use it.
Lifetime includes free updates to the current Vizalyze major version line for as long as we actively develop it. If we ever end active development of a version line, we'll give at least 6 months' notice before that line stops receiving updates - your last-installed version keeps working after that with no forced action on your part.
A future major version requiring a new purchase is not something we currently plan for Lifetime holders' core feature set, but we're not making an infinite-horizon promise about product decisions decades out. If our plans ever change, existing Lifetime holders will hear about it well before it affects them.
Priority email support for 3 years from your purchase date. After that, Lifetime holders have the same access as everyone else to the in-app Help Center, documentation, and community channels - not left without a path to answers, just without a standing priority-queue commitment with no end date.
Because Vizalyze is local-first, your installed software keeps working on your machine regardless of what happens to us as a company - there's no server-side kill switch on the local feature set.
We are not obligated to provide indefinite hosted services, new updates, or support beyond what's stated above in a discontinuation or acquisition scenario, but we will make reasonable efforts to give advance notice to Lifetime license holders of any material change.
Lifetime licenses are for individual use. Companies or teams with 2 or more users should use the Team plan, which includes org management, shared libraries, and an audit log that Lifetime does not.
